It is the era of big data and analytics. A lot of companies are digitalization their businesses and operations to capture data and process these to come up with new and better business models, make better business decisions, launch new products and services faster and/or to improve their operations. One functional area that is inherently rich with data though messy and disparate is the procurement or purchasing division of an organization. These opportunities come in various forms such as:

  • Savings in procurement cost

  • Better and more strategic supplier relationship management

  • Mitigate spending risk and maverick purchases

  • Achieve procurement process efficiencies
